Electro Acupuncture

Electro-acupuncture is the use of an FDA approved electrical device to provide a continuous, gentle stimulation to specific acupuncture needles. The mild current flowing through the needles improves the healing of injured or inflamed joints or muscles, increases pain relieving endorphin release, and stimulates the nervous system to promote balanced functioning and a sense of well-being.

Many medical studies of acupuncture have demonstrated the use of electrical stimulation on specific acupuncture points to effectively relieve pain, improve tissue healing, reduce nausea and improve organ functions.

Laser Acupuncture

Laser Acupuncture involves the use of a hand held device that projects a thin beam of "cold" laser light which the patient cannot feel. This is completely different from a surgical laser which uses heat to cut or burn tissue. Cold lasers may be used on the body in place of needles or in addition to needles or other acupuncture treatment methods.

Studies on the use of laser acupuncture have demonstrated that the effect on the body and acupuncture points from the laser light is very similar to the effect created by an acupuncture needle placed in an acupuncture point.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy is the use of glass or plastic cups and a mechanical suction device to create a local suction under the cup to improve blood flow in order to relax muscles and promote healing. The use of Cupping Therapy is a traditional treatment method in the practice of Chinese medicine, has been a part of most cultures of the world.

Acupressure and Tuina

Acupressure and Tuina are forms of bodywork, where the practitioner applies pressure and hands-on techniques, instead of needles, to the points or areas of treatment. We often use acupressure and tuina after acupuncture treatment of conditions involving muscles, tendons and joints, orthopedic problems and injuries. This feels good, is relaxing, and helps to improve the outcome of the acupuncture treatment.
